Hello!

Welcome, welcome. I decided to create this blog after a mild enlightenment that (1) I love food-related games and food-related films; and I want to write about that, and (2) posts about the previous statement wouldn't be relevant on my melodramatic poetic blog.

Still figuring out how to modify this theme (my skills are dulled, ok) so in the meantime please bear with this boring-other-blog theme.

LIVE IN 2011 at Pentingsari, Sleman, Jogjakarta

I think this post is gonna be long, so hang on :p

On February 16th to February 19th we had a Study Excursion and Live in at Desa Pentingsari, Sleman, Jogjakarta. We were all excited because we're the first of the Science Classes to ever have this kind of live-in things.

I'mma get things straight:
Class XI A1, A4, A6, A8 went to Garongan Village; that's Ingrid, Ilena, Tiau, and Inke
Class XI A2, A3, A5, A8 went to Pentingsari Village, that's Regine, Icil, Lydia, Devi, Sheryl, Bunbun, and Me (and also my crush)
Class XI S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 went to Village I-forgot-the-name :p
A stands for Alam; basically it means the Science Classes
S stands for Sosial, and yes it's the Social Classes. I heard their village is tougher than us Science are.

by the way, I wore a tribal bracelet to match the look, can you see it?

DAY 1 - STUDY EXCURSION
We gathered at 5.30 at school, it's so early! I didn't get a proper bath I think :p
And then we put our things on the bus, and there we go!
For my class, we went to Charoen Pokphand Industries; a factory of poultry food and that kind of thing.
And we studied the ingredients of the "yummy" food for chicken, cow, and pork. The main ingredient is corn, I think. They also add MBM (I still remember, it stands for Meat Bone Meal from a cow, so it basically implies that cow eats another poor cow) and some X ingredients they didn't tell us. Some smelled really bad!
We stayed until near lunch, then we took off.

At bus, I sat right beside Bunbun (remember her?) and our seat was beside Mr. Andy (caking incident, remember him?) and we joked all the time. We had lunch at the bus and had a karaoke all along the way.
My class' bus was rather late, because when we arrived at Solo for dinner, the other three classes had already playing while waiting for us. Mr. Andy joked us that our bus is late because I asked to go to the bathroom twice, so the bus stopped at the gas station twice, to fulfill my needs :p
After dinner, the trip went on, and we arrived at our village at nearly 10 PM.
It was raining a little and our host (the owner of the house we stayed) was a middle-aged small lady living with her husband and two sons (who were busy all the time)

me, my host and her husband, Tepho, and Vanessa
I stayed with two friends from another class, let's call her Vanessa and Tepho.
She took us to her home (fortunately, our home was near the Gathering Point, so we didn't walk a lot) and offered us dinner at that late. We said no, and she insisted us to eat some snacks.
Then we went to bed at midnight.

DAY 2 - MUD, FIELD, COWS
We were separated as four group, each contains members of each class.
In my group I got Icil, Vigor, Erwin, and the boy I like.
We went to see the cow, and that's where the "cow-girl" nickname for me started. Because the cow loves me!
I stroke one particular cow, and gave her (it's female) some grass. Then she started moaning when I was stroking another cow. At this time, some other guys were already looking at our love-connection, including Mr.Andy.
And then I stroke her again. She smelled me, then she licked me. Licked!
Everybody was shocked, because no other cow have licked no other guys. I was the exception!
The cow moaned again when I left her, but I had no other choice.
Mr. Andy started calling me "the cowgirl" by then.

And then we went to see the plants and so on, I didn't really pay attention because the boy I like was so much more irresistible than the plants.

Then we went to the field, and this is where the chaos began.
The first part was save; planting a rice and harvesting it.
The second was, ploughing. With mud and cow. It started with one guy named Theo (in our group. We traveled per group) started throwing the mud to random persons. The war has begun.
We heard "Fire in the hole!" and in seconds, we're no more clean. Icil was the victim because all the mad thrower are my classmates (Vigor, Anthonny, Henry "Pe", and some others) while Icil knew none of them. It was a complete mess ;p

We took some photos and washed ourselves afterwards.
And I did an embarrassing thing in front of the boy I like, we called him Bingbing. It's the secret codename.
It was the three of us; Icil, Bingbing, and me. We walked one by one on a footwalk in the middle of fields, me on the front. I was trying to act cool, but ended up FALLING.
Icil was screaming a dramatic scream and Bingbing was trying to get hold of me.
I said, "I'm okay, it's fine!" and that's pretty much it.

I've never been that intimate with him, and when I am, that's what I did? Great.

After that we were given time to clean ourselves. I went home (to my host's home) and together with Tepho and Vanessa, we did the laundry together. It was hard thing because the mud wouldn't get away and we had to rinse it again and again. There was no washing machine, so we did it traditional way. Then we had a tour home industries there. The villagers made mushroom chips, cassava chips, Robusta coffee, and some more. I bought most of them as a souvenir, though.
Then we went back to our host's home, had dinner, watched TV (Tepho definitely freaked out when I switched the channel to a horror movie, haha) and then went to bed because we'd had another amazing day soon.

I was in the middle with purple T-shirt, Icil was on my right. Notice us?
By the way, my host is a Moslem's, yet she had a cute little dog named Melly. Obviously Melly was in love with me. I'm such an animal attractor, aren't I? ;p
P.S. After the home industries things, I went home to did the dishes. I wore a white pants and at that time I was relieved that I didn't stain my pants even a little. Then Melly, who just came from the wet garden, jumped into my lap, and my dream of clean white pants faded away :p

DAY 3 - SENDANGSONO and KENDURI
Today we went to Sendangsono, a domestic tourism destination for Catholic citizens. We had our host packed up our breakfast and we ran to the bus and had breakfast on the way.
Sendangsono is located in the middle of nowhere, to be short. Our bus stopped at the front gate of an uphill village at 7 AM, and we had to walk our way to Sendangsono for approximatively 2 hours because we arrived there at 9.30 AM and our feet was burned with pain. It's an uphill path anyway, so it doubled the pain.
We had a mass at 10 PM and then we got back to our buses by a public transportation rented by our school, thank God we didn't have to experience another pain :p
On the way back to the Pentingsari Village, Mr. Andy stopped at his mother's shop to take a bottle of beer (and yes, he drank it alone while we watched speechlessly, haha) and Bunbun and I was touched of how close their mother-son relationship is :p
Arriving back at our village, we were getting ready for the Kenduri held on the upcoming night.
Basically, Kenduri is a traditional party held to celebrate a purpose. This one is held to celebrate our staying there, because we were going to get back to Surabaya next day. I felt sad because I loved it here.

I had a bath then Bunbun and the others came to my house to have a visit. Then the others (except Bunbun and me) decided to go to the camping ground to watch a soccer match. Bunbun and I stayed a little bit then we decided to take a walk. This is when another embarrassing thing I did in front of the boy I liked  happened:
We walked to a T intersection, where Bunbun and I heading to a side, and this boy with others were also heading there from a different side. Devi was walking in front of this boy, when I said: "Devi, I had a hemorrhoids!"
Yeah if you asked what the hell with hemorrhoids, it's not hemorrhoids. I think I lost my mind because I saw this boy. Everything was insane on my mind.
And the problem was... I said it too LOUD so the boy I like COULD HEAR IT!!!
I didn't know this until Bunbun told me, though.
Well when I said that sacred word, Bunbun had her eyes on this Bingbing boy, who acted cool all the time.
Then when that word came out of my lips, Bunbun saw Bingbing eyes were widened and his mouth fell (to make it simpler, this boy I like heard the thing and he was shocked) for a moment until he realized Bunbun was eyeing on him, then he returned to act cool.
Bun told me everything when I arrived at Bunbun's house later on, and suddenly I lost my apetite (I was crunching snacks, haha)
Okay. Two is better than one? Not this time. I was like, "Why? Why?? WHY!?"

By the way. Kenduri went on and everything ran smoothly. We ate a lot and the celebration lasted until midnight. I saw the boy I like, but I couldn't look at him. I was embarrassed.
Then we went back to our house and took a nap. Before going to sleep, my host asked me to write on her personal book about what we think and feel. We said "thankyou"a lot on the book.

DAY 4 - MALIOBORO and JAMMED BUS
We woke up and went preparing for everything because today we would get back to Surabaya. I knew I will surely miss this place. We said goodbyes and took some photos, but I forgot to said goodbye to Melly, my loyal canine.
this funky car was owned by my host. Cool!
I promised to keep in touch with my host, and she asked me to come back there again. I said yes, though I won't be able to tell the road there.
Then we went to Malioboro.
I have never went to Malioboro before, and it took about 2 hours to get there by bus.
We were asked to travel per group, so I traveled with a total 12 guys from my class, including Bunbun, Sheryl, Erwin, and some others.
Erwin was the expert of haggling, so we just pointed the things we would like to buy; Erwin would haggle the price; and voila! We got the things we like at a cheap price.
We went here and there by a pedicab, each contains three person. My pedicab was Bunbun, a girl named Vita, and me. The pedicab driver was already old, but because we didn't know the pedicab fare, we just paid him far too low accidentally :'(
Others paid their young pedicab driver about 20.000 rupiah, that's about $2, and we paid ours only 7.000 rupiah, not even a dollar!
We didn't know! It wasn't our mistake completely!!
We left Malioboro at afternoon, and we were content because we got many wonderful things there. For example, I got a fur slipper (which I used in Malioboro because I forgot to wear a sock and got hurt by my own Converse) and wore it all the way home. We also bought a 20.000 rupiah fun glasses (mine is purple, Bun's is black) but Mr. Andy made us a joke forever since because we didn't haggle cheap enough (no Erwin this one) and our other classmates could haggle it until 10.000 rupiah, half of our price.
Anyway, we still love our glasses.
notice our glasses? Haha :p
We arrived at Solo to take our packed dinner, and this is where the nightmare started. Our bus was jammed on Sragen at about 5 PM. The driver told us it's just the carburetor or such a thing. Most of the buses (there are 13 in total) also stopped to ask what happened. One hour later the driver told them all that our bus has been fixed and ready to go. Most of the buses took off, remaining three including ours; the bus of IA5 and IA8. Then at 6.30, the driver told us to grab whatever to be grab, and enter another bus because our bus was on a fatal problem.
We, who were still shocked, were asked to move immediately and were asked not to panic.
In reality, we panicked. It was getting darker and darker by seconds, and all of us were... transmigrated.
Unfortunately I enter the XI IA5 bus, the class had a "problem" with our class and we didn't feel welcomed even a bit.
I was stressed out, I sat beside Yesicha and the funny thing was: when I gave Yesicha a candy (she couldn't even eat her packed dinner) she didn't remove the packing and eat it whole.
I couldn't help but laughing! You got to see her stressed out face!! LOL!!!

Yeah and then fortunately we changed bus and we entered IA1's bus (they had moved A1's girls, including Ingrid to another Socials buses, to make room for our class. THUMBS UP LIVE-IN 2011 COMMITTEE!) and we traveled home safety. We arrived at 12 in the night; 2 hours later then another normal buses.
The bus tragedy will forever be in our mind; etched deep down together with our memories at Pentingsari :)

Oh finally! Told you it's a long long post!
