Hello!

Welcome, welcome. I decided to create this blog after a mild enlightenment that (1) I love food-related games and food-related films; and I want to write about that, and (2) posts about the previous statement wouldn't be relevant on my melodramatic poetic blog.

Still figuring out how to modify this theme (my skills are dulled, ok) so in the meantime please bear with this boring-other-blog theme.

And the boy fell asleep

I'm home again.
(Anyway, this post is about a Japanese manga... just saying.)
You know the feeling... of being home but no longer feeling home? That empty feeling when you open your wardrobe but none of your clothes was there? It's weird, you know. I'll be leaving this small town. Soon I'll no longer be your uptown girl.

Anyway. Do you know a Japanese manga titled D.Gray-Man?
I freaking love this series. But three years ago the mangaka went into hiatus and the series was put into idle mode. I stopped reading since then. (until now I haven't finished reading)
Today I turned on my old compyu and yeah you guessed it. I love again. I love the character, the drama (who doesn't?), and the twist. Yeah, twisting story-line is the best.

Then the boy fell asleep
and one or two ambers in the fading ashes of the fire
flared up in the shape of a beloved face

Dreaming many thousands of dreams
spreading across the land
Your silver gray eyes shine their light
like starts falling down from the night sky

Even though countless of years
turn so many prayers back to earth
I will keep praying
somehow, love for this child please

kissing the joined hands
(Tsunaida te ni kiss wo -- a musical score played by Allen)

So here goes the brief synopsis.
There is akuma (demon) but there also is exorcist.
The main antagonist is named The Earl of Millennium , he is the one who creates akuma. The Earl also has a family named the Noah family, there are a total 13 of them, and they're incredibly strong.

To destroy the akuma, the exorcist used a weapon named Innocent. Innocents are fragments of God's particle (yeah the goal of this series is to retrieve all Innocents in the world and destroy the akumas). If an Innocent is compatible with a person, it will change shape and become the weapon to destroy the akuma. If it's not, Innocent will shaped like a little cube.
Allen Walker, our protagonist, a 15 years old boy is an exorcist who joined The Black Order (an exorcist organisation) and fights the akuma. His Innocent is parasitic type (that acts as weapon and barrier) named Crowned Clown.
Twist #1: The reason Allen became an exorcist was his because his grief for his adoptive father, Mana Walker. When Mana died, young Allen made a contract with The Earl, causing his father to become an akuma. Allen was forced to kill his akuma father, and yet his father cursed him. This curse caused Allen's hair to turn white and his left eye to be "signed" by the curse.
Twist #2: Allen could play a musical score, a song that then called Tsunaida te ni kiss wo, which is the song created by the 14th Noah.
Twist #2: Turns out Mana Walker was the brother of Nea Walker; the 14th Noah, the deceiving Noah. The Earl killed Nea, and Mana was so sad he lost his memories. Allen was a human that then planted by Nea's memories, thus turning him to become Nea. This caused Allen to wonder, when Mana told him 'I love you', was it him? Or was it his brother Nea?

Okay there are many exorcists and each of them has their own story.

But my favorite is Kanda Yuu
He's an exorcist from Japan, his Innocent is a sword called Mugen. He has a long black hair and is usually in foul mood. He's so beautiful, though. He heals quickly, but every time he heals, the tattoo on his chest widened. (He discovered and tried soba at age 12, and since then, he fell in love and he ate soba three times a day. I found this fact soo hilarious!)
Twist #4: Yuu isn't an ordinary human. He was a child born from a project created by The Black Order called The Second Exorcist. The tattoo was the sign of this project, and healing at quick rate is also his ability from The Second Exorcist program. Anyway, Kanda's past is the part I cried the most.

Lavi (upper left) is an exorcist, but also a Bookman apprentice (which job is to record everything that happens in history). His Innocent shaped like a hammer.
Twist #5: Bookmen are a kind that should have no friend; a kind that only watch and record the history.
Lenalee Lee (bottom left) and her big-bro Komui Lee (bottom right) are siblings from China.
Twist #6: Lenalee was separated from her brother when they were young. Lenalee was compatible with an Innocent, and was forced to synchronize with the Innocent. She used to hate being compatible and always running from the organisation's people, thus she ended up being chained. Komui then joined The Black Order, worked hard to be a supervisor, just to be with his sister. Lenalee stopped running away and started being an exorcist, for the sake of her brother and everyone around her.

Okay then. I won't spoil anything much.
I love this series, again, because of the twist. Some parts are just too sad and touching, you might want to cry. The akumas have a a little bit disturbing appearance, though. Bye, then~
