Hello!

Welcome, welcome. I decided to create this blog after a mild enlightenment that (1) I love food-related games and food-related films; and I want to write about that, and (2) posts about the previous statement wouldn't be relevant on my melodramatic poetic blog.

Still figuring out how to modify this theme (my skills are dulled, ok) so in the meantime please bear with this boring-other-blog theme.

Beijing, day two.

After a long forgotten queue of my Beijing journey, here it is. For the first part, click here. I know it's so last year and I blamed myself for my procrastination == so here it is, better late than never right?

I spent the second day around Tiananmen Square and Hutong.

[1] The cafe menu at Tiananmen (which actually shouldn't be photoed) [2] One of the antique clocks at the Clock Museum
[3] The walk at Tiananmen [4] Locals playing chess at one of the houses in Hutong [5] Chocolate ice-cream I got from my guide before we rode the rickshaw [6] Collection of refrigerator magnets at local tourist shop [7] Fruit seller at the street
[8] Chinese Sprite. I'm not racist. [9] Sliced melon at the street. I't's melon right? Or it isn't?

As always, because of the heavy pictures.

As you might have known, few months ago I went to Beijing, China, for five short days.

Here goes the complete journey of my first day in Beijing (I will divide the journey into five parts.)

[4] Chinese tea at local restaurant [5] Temple of Heaven [6] Lotus flower on my porcelain bowl
[7] Fruit dessert [8] Vanilla and watermelon ice-cream. Yes, watermelon. [9] Random regulation I honestly can't read ._.

This post will be picture-heavy.

Epic Sunday

Last Sunday, I went to Dufan (best of the few amusement parks in Indonesia obviously) with Jeffrey-bro and his girlfriend Franita-sis.
Fran-sis looked like a calm person, with glasses and so on. But this day I found out that she is actually quite fierce and loud girl haha :D

with Jeffrey
with Franita
There's a story about our Fast Trax tickets...
So when we entered Dufan, at first we bought the regular ticket, it's IDR 180.000,-
Then we rode Tornado and this was a big mistake, because Tornado had a super high adrenaline booster, so all the rides after Tornado didn't feel as cool as the Tornado to be honest :p
Tornado
Halilintar
Niagara gara
We realized that the queue was too long, so we decided to extend our ticket to a Fast Trax by adding IDR 120.000,- per person, but in return we didn't have to queue :p we can see others were jealous at us haha :D

And then after we took this photo, Jeff lost 6 of the tickets :o

Our Fast Trax tickets
We were shocked and sad because 6 tickets, it means IDR 120.000,-
Funny because he put it on his front pocket and it was hard to believe that the wind carried the ticket.
We came back to the officer who sold us the ticket, explaining how we lost the tickets, and put a pitiful face :( he told us that he can do nothing about it, but he seemed so nice though
Anyway, we tried to enjoy our remaining time. We had soo much fun.

And then when it's already afternoon and we decided to ride the water rides (we did the water rides at last, because we knew we would get wet) we met THE OFFICER WHO SOLD OUR TICKET!!
He was waiting for us!
He said he knew that we would ride the water rides at last, because most people would do that too.
Jeff was soo happy he told the officer that it must have been fate! Haha :D
and that's because... our lost tickets were FOUND!
He confirmed that it was our ticket! We felt so content and elated~
In the end we were home happy, the end ;)

Roppan snacks

Few days ago I went to Gandaria City, a rather new mall in South Jakarta, and I had a snack time there :D
Great place, so crowded and noisy, though.
The Roppan Toast is basically a toasted bread slice with various topping on it. I think they named the toast funny though, like Ike-banana for a banana topping and so on ;)
Anyway, here goes some photos:

the tissue, fork, and knive, notice the smiling faces on the tops :D
my toast and my green tea latte
my mom
Jeffrey-bro :D
and at last Erick-bro B)
well I didn't take pictures of myself because... I had a bad hair day, haha :p
This post should even be before the Haircut post, my my~

By the way, there's still much to be posted, but I'll be off now because it's already late!
See ya:*

P.S. I made an account on Photobucket under a name yoantjokro, and that's why I could put these photos on their correct angle.
P.S.S. These are only from Arif's and Bunbun's cameras, and I haven't received the ones from my brothers. Maybe I'll put them sooner or later.

New Year Eve Dinner

I don't know why but I can't get this picture landscaped. I thought this was funny because my Mom was trying to prank Jeff and it worked. It's not shown in this picture but Jeff was really surprised by the sound. So funny!

First of all, I just wanna say Happy New Year!

By the way, yesterday I had a blast. Yeah we shopped for groceries because we were having a steak for dinner. We went to Ranch Market and spent much on the groceries!

And then we cooked together. There were my auntie (for the next I'm gonna call her by "Mamie"), my big bro Erick and Jeffrey, my Mom (who's not helping too much because she's also busy with Pocky) and me.
I love those moments and I was absolutely having fun.

And I actually did some helps. I did these:
  1. Rinse and clean all the vegetables, then peel the carrots and cut the rest.
  2. Help Erick to tie the steak meat. Yes, tie, so they remain round ;)
  3. Cut the chicken breast into small tiny part for the Zuppa Soup
  4. And my best part; I made the whole mashed potato, from peeling them (with Erick) then mashed them, adding butter, whip cream, salt, nutmeg, pepper, and a pinch of sugar. They're so damn yummy!
  5. Wash and cut the mushrooms
  6. Help Mamie cut the sausages, but failed miserably so I just let her finish the rest :p

Potato peeling
While Mamie and I were working hard, you can see my Mom was goofing and joking around. But she did helped (though she's not working as hard as us) really!

BY THE WAY, IT SUCKS BECAUSE I CAN'T UPLOAD THE PICTURE IN THEIR CORRECT POSE (PORTRAIT or LANDSCAPE) AND I DON'T KNOW WHY BECAUSE IT SEEMS RIGHT IN MY FOLDER BUT NOT QUITE RIGHT ON THIS PAGE :/
My Mom helping my Mamie putting a glazing on the Zuppa Soup' pastry. See, she helped kok ;)
My (repeat, MY) mashed potato. I worked so hard for this one and it worthed the work.
My Mamie cutting the pastries layers
All done by me; all is fresh, all is clean, all is peeled, all is yummy, all is crunchy, and so on
The Zuppa Soup ready to be oven-ed (what to say it?)
My Mamie covering the whole soup with pastries. Yes that's me on the background :p
Toldya my Mom did help us kok! Haha :D
The steak and sausage on the grilling
Jeff was grilling as an expert, but you can't see he had a timer on his iPhone (not shown here) to time everything and he had previously googled the time of grilling :p
My mashed potato and the gravy-to-be on the right
Zuppa Soup has turned bronze and ready to be served! Yum!
Everybody busy in the kitchen
See, you can see Jeff's iPhone! He's not as pro as he might look :p
Everybody busy in the kitchen B)
Mamie, Jeff, and Erick
Preparing the salad
Everybody ready to eat

Erick's fiancĂ©e is taking the photo, her name is Pamela and she's kinda funny and close to us
Zuppa Soup
Main course, the steak with mushroom gravy.
Pineli's Scarlet
Brown Brothers' Lexia
I'm still 16 but I'll turn 17 soon so everybody say I'm okay to drink. I drink a lot and was a little tipsy at night.
By the way, Pamela told me the difference between tipsy and drunk:
Tipsy is when you are on a happy state and sleep safe and sound and wake up fresh
Drunk is not on a happy state and the rest isn't that safe and sound

Now that's Pamela!
Erick was whipping a whipped cream for the dessert
A very yummy chocolate cake, special with whipped cream :)
